Making his international debut in June 2017, Curran is the son of former Zimbabwe international cricketer Kevin Curran. He is also the brother of Northamptonshire CCC batsman Ben Curran and England and Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran. Domestic Career

Tom Curran represented the KwaZulu Natal-Inland team in various age categories before moving to England to join Surrey County Cricket Club in 2013. His standout performances with Surrey led to him catching the eye of the England national selectors, resulting in his selection for the England Performance Programme in 2015. He became eligible to play for England from October 2015.

IPL career

Tom Curran was named as the replacement for Mitchell Starc by Kolkata Knight Riders for the 2018 Indian Premier League. He achieved 6 wickets in 5 games with an average of 19.67 in that season but was absent in the following season due to injury. After spending a year on the sidelines, Rajasthan Royals acquired the services of the English all-rounder for INR 1 crore in the 2020 IPL Players Auction. Curran took 1 wicket for 62 runs in his 10 overs. England’s top order, comprising Jason Roy (96), Jonny Bairstow (141), and Joe Root (46), successfully chased the target in 38 overs, winning the match by 9 wickets. Despite earning a spot in England’s 2019 Cricket World Cup squad due to his consistent performances, Curran did not play any matches as the team had a strong bowling lineup under captain Eoin Morgan. T20I Career

An impressive performer known for his strong batting skills, he received an invitation to join the England team for the Twenty20 series against South Africa in 2017. Making his T20I debut against South Africa on June 23, 2017, at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton, Curran showcased his talent by taking 3/33 in 4 overs.
