Livramento developed through the youth ranks at Chelsea, where he was named the club’s Academy Player of the Year in 2021. He made the move from Chelsea to Southampton that same summer, quickly becoming a key player for the Saints. During his first season, he made 28 Premier League appearances before his promising form was disrupted by injury. After two seasons on the South Coast, Livramento joined Newcastle United ahead of the 2023/24 domestic and UEFA Champions League campaigns. In March 2024, he scored his first senior goal in a 3-0 home win over Wolves. His strong performances at the beginning of the 2024/25 season earned him multiple call-ups to the England senior squad. In November 2024, he made his debut for the Three Lions in a 5-0 UEFA Nations League victory over the Republic of Ireland, providing the assist for teammate Anthony Gordon’s first international goal.

Early Life

Club Career
Valentino Livramento was named Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year for the 2020–21 season. Toward the end of that season, he was included on the bench for Premier League matches against Manchester City and Arsenal. contract discussions between Chelsea and Livramento broke down, leading to speculation that the wing-back might leave the club. Several clubs, including Southampton, Brighton & Hove Albion, A.C. Milan, and RB Leipzig, showed interest in him.
After failing to reach an agreement with Chelsea, Livramento signed with Southampton in August 2021, with a reported buy-back and sell-on clause. His Premier League debut came on 14 August 2021, in a 3–1 loss to Everton. On 23 October 2021, he scored his first professional goal in a 2–2 draw with Burnley. Livramento has represented England at various youth levels, up to the U21s. He is also eligible to play for Portugal and Scotland, with his mother being Scottish and his father Portuguese. He received his first England U21 call-up on 27 August 2021 and made his debut on 7 September 2021 in a 2–0 win over Kosovo U21s in the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification. Livramento was called up to the senior England squad for the first time on 29 August 2024 for UEFA Nations League matches against the Republic of Ireland and Finland. He made his senior debut on 17 November 2024 in a 5–0 win over the Republic of Ireland.
