Early life and education

Growing up in Wembley, Braverman was a resident of Harrow, Greater London. Her parents, Christie Fernandes and Uma (née Mootien-Pillay), are Indian immigrants who came to the United Kingdom in the 1960s from Kenya and Mauritius, respectively. Although Sue-Ellen was short for Suella by her elementary school instructors, Sue Ellen Ewing is the name of the character she was given since her mother loved the American soap series Dallas. Her mother, a Hindu woman of Tamil Mauritian origin, worked as a nurse in Brent and served as a councillor. In the general election of 2001 and the Brent East by-election in 2003, she ran a Conservative campaign for Tottenham. Her father was employed by a housing organization. Career

In 2005, Braverman was admit to the bar at Middle Temple, so becoming a barrister. She finished her pupillage at 2-3 Gray’s Inn Square (now Cornerstone Barristers), but she didn’t begin her tenancy there.
