In Amravati, Maharashtra, on September 9, Thakare was born as Shiv Manoharrao Uttamrao Jhinguji Ganuji Sambhaji Shivaji Thakare. He started helping his father Manohar Thakare, who worked at a store selling betel leaves, at a young age. Later on, he supported his family by selling newspapers and milk packs. During his season on Bigg Boss Marathi, he dated Veena Jagtap, a competitor. As part of a job during the program, Shiv got Veena’s name tattooed on his right hand. In 2022, they parted ways.
