Career
In 1999, Shilpa Shinde began her career in television after being noticed for her part in the serial “Bhabhi.” After that, in 2002, she starred in the lead part of “Amrapali” and “Sanjeevani.” She continued her winning streak that year when she appeared in “Miss India,” another program. In the January 2004 episode of “Meher – Kahani Haq Aur Haqeeqat Ki” on DD National, Shilpa played the role of Meher, a parallel lead character. She played Gayatri in the films Waaris and Hari Mirchi Lal Mirchi in 2006. Shilpa made her screen debut in Dasari Narayana Rao’s “Chhina” and Suresh Verma’s “Shivani” in Telugu. Her breakthrough performance was in the 2011 SAB TV sitcom “Chidiya Ghar,” where she played Koyal Narayan alongside Paresh Ganatra. But she left the program in 2014 because of personal problems.

Reports surfaced in 2016 alleging that CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes’ Association) had blacklisted Shilpa Shinde because of a disagreement she had with the “Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai!” producers. CINTAA emphasized that there was no ban, but they still wanted Shilpa to give an explanation and pay for any losses she caused to the producer and channel.
After making a brief appearance on “Maddam Sir,” Shilpa and actress Gulki Joshi got into a verbal spat. When Shilpa made disparaging remarks about the cast and crew of the show, Gulki retorted that Shilpa was just trying to get attention. Shilpa Shinde had a falling out with television producer Vikas Gupta while she was on Bigg Boss 11, accusing him of ruining her career. Vikas responded on social media, denouncing Shilpa’s claims and condemning her.

• Legal Battle with the Makers of a TV Serial
In March 2016, she left the popular TV serial ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai’ due to her issues with the production house. She even filed an F.I.R. against the maker of the TV serial, Sanjay Kohli, accusing him of sexual harassment. Later, the makers of the show accused her of breaching the contract. Reportedly, she was also banned by Cine & TV Artistes Association. She then filed a defamation case against the producer, CINTAA, and the Indian Films and TV Producers’ Council (IFTPC). Later, the matter was settled between both the parties.
• Tiff with Vikas Gupta
In 2017, while she was in Bigg Boss House, she accused her co-contestant Vikas Gupta of taking various acting projects from her. Vikas then said that she was banned by CINTAA for her behaviour and not because of Vikas. They had several fights in the show.
• Twitter Fight with Gauahar Khan
In 2018, Shilpa shared a meme on Twitter targeting Teejay Sidhu, wife of the Indian actor Karanvir Bohra. Teejay had shared an open letter against the TV show Bigg Boss (in which Karanvir was a contestant) which was not liked by Shilpa. Later, the Indian model and actor Gauahar Khan criticised Shilpa for such remarks. It then turned in a Twitter war between Shilpa and Gauahar.

While she was in Bigg Boss Season 11 house, an adult MMS went viral on social media claiming that the woman in the video was Shilpa Shinde. Later, Shilpa cleared that the woman in the video was not her. She even criticised people including the Indian TV actor Hina Khan and Hina’a boyfriend Rocky Jaiswal who made negative comments on her for appearing in the video. Hina had criticised Shilpa of sharing the MSS link on Shilpa’s Twitter account.
• Feud with TV Producers
In 2020, the Indian TV producers Preeti Simoes and Neeti Simoes accused Shilpa of quitting the show without informing them which was a breach of contract. Shilpa took to her social media account to clear the matter and said that she had informed the makers through mail. She also said that the actors were being exploited on the sets by making them work for long hours.

In February 2023, she had verbal fight with the Indian actress Gulki Joshi after Shilpa’s abrupt exit from the television show Maddam Sir. Reportedly, after shooting for a week for the show, Shilpa Shinde posted a video on Instagram, bashing the leading actresses of the show for spreading negativity about her. Later, Gulki Joshi questioned Shilpa’s intention and said that they didn’t know why Shilpa was bashing at them. Shilpa then questioned the identity and popularity of Gulki Joshi.
