Early life and ancestry

KhAbdul Rashid Salim, Salman Kh Screenwriter Salim Khan and his first wife Sushila Charak, who took on the name Salma, are the parents of Salman Khan, the eldest of their children. Khan was raised in both religions after being born on December 27, 1965, to a Hindu mother and Muslim father. The children’s connection with their father deteriorated after Salim married the actress Helen in 1981 and didn’t improve for years. Although Jasim Khan claims in his biography of the actor that Salman Khan’s ancestors were members of the Akuzai sub-tribe of the Yusufzai Pashtuns from Malakand in the Swat valley of North-West Frontier Province, Salman Khan’s paternal great-grandparents are thought to have been Alakozai Pashtuns from Afghanistan who immigrated to Indore State, Indore Residency (now in Madhya Pradesh), British India in the mid-1800s.

Career

In the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi, Khan starred in a supporting role before making his acting debut. He portrayed the title character in Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), a romantic family drama directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya that went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of the year. It led to him receiving his first Filmfare nomination for Best Actor. Maine Pyar Kiya was called Te Amo in Spanish, When Love Calls in English, and Prema Paavuraalu in Telugu. Three box office flops in 1991—Patthar Ke Phool, Love, and Kurbaan—followed the 1990 release of one film starring Khan Baaghi, which was a box office success. Khan later starred in a love drama alongside Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in the same year.

Other work

He established SKBH Productions (Salman Khan Being Human Productions) as his own production firm in 2011. The Being Human organization will receive donations of funds earned from film productions. Controversies

After his automobile collided with a Mumbai bakery on September 28, 2002, Khan was taken into custody for reckless and careless driving. Three other people were hurt in the incident, and the victim who was sleeping on the pavement outside the bakery lost their lives. He was initially the subject of charges of culpable homicide, but the charges were later dismissed. He entered a not guilty plea to a formal allegation of culpable homicide on July 24, 2013. Khan was convicted on all charges in the case on May 6, 2015. The Bombay Sessions Court came to the conclusion that Khan was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, which resulted in one homeless person’s death and four others suffering critical injuries. Khan did not possess a driver’s license, according to an RTO official.

Controversies • Blackbuck hunting case (1999): Salman & his co-stars of Hum Saath Saath Hain were accused of hunting blackbuck deer & chinkara (endangered animals) while shooting for the film in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
On 5 April 2018, he was found guilty in the Blackbuck Killing Case and was sentenced to 5 years by the Jodhpur Court; Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri pronounced the verdict. He was charged under Section 51 of Wildlife (Protection) Act. The Jodhpur Court gave benefit of doubt to “Hum Saath Saath Hain” co-stars, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam, and Sonali Bendre.
On 8 April 2018, he was granted a bail by the Jodhpur Sessions court; after spending two nights in Jodhpur jail.
• Hit-and-run case (2002): Salman drove his car over the people sleeping on the pavement outside a bakery at night. One person was killed, while three persons were injured in this accident.

And shame on all the female actors who support this guy who has beaten several women.” However, she later deleted the post. • Misbehaviour with a journalist: In April 2022, Salman Khan approached the Bombay High Court, where he challenged the process (summons) issued to him by a lower court in connection with the alleged misbehaviour with a journalist in 2019. In his complaint Journalist Ashok Pandey accused the actor of snatching his mobile phone while he was cycling on a Mumbai street. Hours after the firing, Anmol Bishnoi, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, took to social media to claim the responsibility for the attack.
• Dabangg 3 actress accused him of misbehaviour: In June 2023, Hema Sharma, a social media influencer and actress, popularly known as ‘Viral Bhabhi,’ revealed that she was manhandled by the security officers of Salman Khan when she attempted to meet the actor during the shoot of Dabangg 3 in 2019. Hema said that she was humiliated and thrown like a dog in front of more than 100 people, including some of her acquaintances. Hema said that although Salman Khan was not present when his security officers manhandled her, it happened in his vicinity, and he could have intervened to avoid this.
