Reynolds went on to star in other films, including the comedy National Lampoon’s Van Wilder (2002), Waiting… (2005), and The Proposal (2009), as well as the superhero pictures Blade: Trinity (2004) and Green Lantern (2011). He contributed voice acting for the Croods franchise (2013-2020) and Turbo (2013). Reynolds’ largest economic success came from the superhero movie Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018), and Deadpool & Wolverine (2025), in which he played the titular character.

Ryan Rodney Reynolds was born October 23, 1976, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He’s the youngest of four sons. His father, James Chester Reynolds, was a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer before retiring and going to work as a food distributor.His mother, Tamara Lee (née Stewart), worked in retail sales. Reynolds has two brothers who work in law enforcement in British Columbia, one of whom joined their father in the RCMP. His paternal grandpa, Chester Reynolds, was a farmer who represented Stettler in Alberta’s Legislative Assembly from 1940 to 1944. Reynolds is of Irish and Scottish origin and was raised in the Roman Catholic Church in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood and Vanier, Ontario.
Reynolds began performing when she was thirteen years old. He graduated from Kitsilano Secondary School in 1994, where he studied alongside actor Joshua Jackson. Reynolds appeared in a few television shows before becoming disheartened and leaving the industry at the age of 19 to attend Kwantlen Polytechnic University. A few months later, he met fellow actor Chris William Martin, who persuaded him to try again and accompany him to Los Angeles.
