Early life and background
The 28th of September, 1982 saw the birth of Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. His parents, Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor, were both performers in the Hindi cinema business. He is the grandson of actor-director Raj Kapoor and great-grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor. Born in 1980, Riddhima, his elder sister, is a fashion and interior designer. His first cousins are the actresses Karisma and Kareena Kapoor, and his uncle is the actor Randhir Kapoor. Born to a Sikh mother and a Hindu father, Kapoor is of Punjabi origin. The Bombay Scottish School was his school of choice. Among his peers, he would always come in last when it came to academics and showed little enthusiasm in studying.
