Deve Gowda and the nephew of former Chief Minister of Karnataka, H. D. Kumaraswamy. In 2014, Prajwal completed his mechanical engineering degree at Bangalore Institute of Technology. While initially pursuing a master’s degree in Australia, he decided to leave the program to enter the field of politics. In 2019, he assumed the role of state general secretary of the Janata Dal (Secular) party (JD(S)), where he dedicated over 8 years to the party.
