Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Glaser is the daughter of Julie E. (née Burke) and Edward J. Glaser. She has a younger sister named Lauren. Glaser spent much of her childhood in St. Louis, Missouri, particularly in the suburb of Kirkwood. She graduated from Kirkwood High School and briefly attended the University of Colorado Boulder before transferring to the University of Kansas, where she earned a degree in English literature.
