Early life
Born into a Punjabi Sikh family, Dhupia was raised in (modern-day) Kochi, India. She was raised by her mother, Manpinder (Babli Dhupia), at home by her father, Commander Pradip Singh Dhupia, who was a member of the Indian Navy. Before transferring to Navy Children School in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, she attended Naval Public School in Cochin. With honours in history, she received her diploma from Jesus and Mary College, a University of Delhi associate, in New Delhi.

Career
Dhupia debuted as an actor in the play Graffiti in New Delhi. She then modelled for advertising campaigns and made an appearance in an Indipop band Euphoria music video. After that, she made an appearance in the TV series Rajdhani. She competed in the Femina Miss India pageant in 2002 and won the title of Miss India 2002. She was then flown to the Miss Universe 2002 pageant, which took place in Puerto Rico, and she finished in the top 10. Dhupia had intended to enter the Indian Foreign Service after placing in the pageant, but she ended up pursuing theatre instead.
Her first feature film role was in the mediocre box office hit Qayamat: City Under Threat in 2003. After becoming well-known for her lead performance in Julie, she went on to play twin sisters in the 2005 film Sheesha, which did poorly at the box office. Subsequently, Dhupia acted in box office hits like Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), which was also included in an episode of the anthology movie Dus Kahaniyaan (2007). Over the next few years, Dhupia acted in supporting parts in several films, such as Dasvidaniya (2008), Singh Is Kinng (2008)[8], Mithya (2008), Maharathi (2008), and Ek Chalis Ki Last Local (2007).
Personal life and off-screen work
In an effort to support the Concern India Foundation, Dhupia participated in the Mumbai Marathon and raised more than Rs. 5 lakh. She also contributed to the fund-raising efforts for the Sikkim earthquake victims in 2011. She gave a performance at the 2012 GR8 Women’s Award. Dhupia abstains from meat. Along with Bollywood actors including Sunil Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Anil Kapoor, and actress Bipasha Basu, she attended the 2014 Hiru Golden Film Awards in Sri Lanka as a special guest. In a private ceremony held at a Gurudwara on May 10, 2018, Dhupia wed actor Angad Bedi, the son of former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi. She gave birth to a child named Mehr Dhupia Bedi on November 18, 2018. Due to her post-pregnancy weight increase, Dhupia faced fat shaming.
