He debuted in List A cricket for Speen Ghar Region during the 2017 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament on August 10, 2017. His Twenty20 debut was with Boost Defenders in the 2017 Shpageeza Cricket League on September 11, 2017. The Kings XI Punjab purchased him in the 2018 IPL auction in January 2018 when he became the youngest cricketer to play in the Indian Premier League at the age of 17 years and 11 days on April 8, 2018. He joined Hampshire County Cricket Club for the 2018 t20 Blast tournament in England in May 2018 and played for Nangarhar in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League tournament in September 2018, where he emerged as the joint-leading wicket-taker for the Nangarhar Leopards with twelve dismissals in nine matches.
