Domestic Career
Mohit Sharma debuted for Haryana during the 2011-12 season and had a promising start to his first-class career. Following that season, he received coaching from Ian Pont. In the 2012-13 season, he performed exceptionally well, taking 37 wickets in seven matches at an average of 23. He finished as the 5th leading wicket-taker of that season.
IPL Career
Mohit showcased his bowling skills while playing for Chennai Super Kings in the 2013 IPL season, earning praise from the audience. Chennai retained him for Rs. 2 crores for the next season, where he became the highest wicket-taker among uncapped players in a single IPL season, winning the purple cap with 23 wickets.
He later joined Kings XI Punjab for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, after which the team used the Right to Match card to bring him back for Rs. 2.4 crore. Mohit was signed by Kings XI Punjab for INR 6.5 crore in the IPL Player Auction 2016 and continued to represent them for the next three seasons. In the IPL 2020 Player Auction, the Delhi Capitals acquired the Haryana bowler for INR 50 lakh.

Mohit Sharma made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on 1 August 2013 following his strong showings in the IPL. He continued his good form leading up to the World Cup, where he impressed with 13 wickets, ranking as India’s 3rd highest wicket-taker. Despite his initial success, Mohit Sharma struggled to regain his form after the World Cup.
T20I Career
Mohit Sharma made his T20 debut against Australia in 2014, where he secured one wicket. Following this, he was chosen to represent India in the 2014 World T20 held in Bangladesh.
