After rising through the ranks, Wood played his first-class debut at Trent Bridge against Sussex in 2014. He did, however, demonstrate growth as a bowler in 2015, as he ended the campaign with 30 wickets and was called up to the ECB bowling camp in South Africa.

In his capacity as president of DGC, Wood oversaw all marketing, Artists & Repertoire (A&R), and artist development and guidance for the label’s artists, which included Yeah Yeah Yeahs, All-American Rejects, Weezer, and Rise Against. Wood was active in the firm’s marketing and PR prior to joining A&R.

Personal life
Wood met writer Sophia Nardin while attending Wesleyan University, and the two are now married. Along with his wife and two daughters, he resides in Los Angeles. Shortly after Apple paid $3 billion to acquire Beats, Wood paid $8.55 million for Silvertop, a 4,700-square-foot (440 m2) home in Los Angeles in August 2014. John Lautner, an architect, created the mansion, which was constructed in 1956 for inventor Kenneth Reiner. However, Reiner never lived there since he finally filed for bankruptcy. In 1974, an adjacent couple purchased the incomplete property, finished it, and spent forty years living there. Upon acquiring Silvertop, Wood hired Barbara Bestor, an architect known for designing the Beats Electronics offices in Los Angeles, to carry out renovations on the property.
