Kathrin Romany Beckinsale was born on July 26, 1973, in the Chiswick district of London. She is the only child of actors Richard Beckinsale and Judy Loe. Through her father’s previous marriage, she has a half-sister, actress Samantha Beckinsale. Her father had partial Burmese heritage. Kate’s parents married in 1977, just before she began nursery school.
