Jeremy Allen White was born on February 17, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Eloise Ziegler and Richard White. He grew up in the Carroll Gardens area of Brooklyn. His mother is a North Carolina native. White was an elementary school dancer who did ballet, jazz, and tap dance. He decided to pursue acting after enrolling in a new middle school dance program when he was 13. He studied at the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen.

White made his acting debut in 2006, first in the film Beautiful Ohio and subsequently in the series Conviction.
