Early life
Terry Yorath, a former Wales international football player and manager who was then playing for Leeds United, and his wife Christine welcomed Gabrielle Nicole Yorath into the world on April 24, 1973, in Leeds, in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Her father was a professional athlete who played for several British teams and the Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada, so the family traveled around a lot. She went to Notre Dame Sixth Form College and Cardinal Heenan High School in Leeds. The pinnacle of her athletic career came when she represented Wales in rhythmic gymnastics, placing 11th at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland.
She played netball in school and at university in addition to competing in the high jump. She started to take an interest in football while she was a regular. Her mother left because she felt obligated to. On May 11, 1985, the day of the Bradford City stadium fire, she was present in Valley Parade with her brother and sister. Just before the fire spread, she had stepped away from the platform to observe the impending catastrophe.

Early career
In 1996, Logan received an invitation to work as a broadcaster on Sky Sports after completing her legal studies at Durham University and starting her career as a presenter on Tyne Tees Television’s Tonight program and Metro Radio in Newcastle. As the lead singer of On the Ball, Logan’s career gained prominence. Logan was among the few female sportscasters who successfully transitioned to broadcasting on terrestrial television. She hosted ITV’s UEFA Champions League coverage, which included the 2005 and 2006 finals between AC Milan and Liverpool and Arsenal and Barcelona, respectively, after ITV lost the terrestrial rights to the Premier League.
