About Esha Deol
Esha Deol is a Bollywood actress known for her roles in Hindi movies. She is the daughter of popular actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Deol started her acting career in the romantic thriller Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and received the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
On November 2, 1981, in Bombay (now known as Mumbai), Esha Deol was born. She is the older child of Dharmendra and Hema Malini, well-known Bollywood actresses. Ahana is the name of her younger sister. She is actor Abhay Deol’s first cousin and the half-sister of actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Her mother is a Tamil Hindu Iyengar Brahmin, and her father is a Punjabi Jat. Along with her mother and siblings, she speaks Tamil. She was an enthusiastic football player and midfielder at Jamnabai Narsee School throughout her time there. She played handball for her college at the state level and captained the football team at her school. In addition to competing at the national level in football, she was chosen to represent Maharashtra in the Senior.
With Vinay Shukla’s Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe (2002), she made her acting debut opposite Aftab Shivdasani in the lead role. Sanjay Kapoor, Jaya Bachchan, and Anupam Kher played supporting parts. The film did not do well at the box office. Critics had differing opinions about Deol after her performance. Rediff.com writer Savera R. Someshwar observed, “Esha, as a person, exudes a confidence that almost borders on arrogance.” “She’s not bad, but considering the hype, the expectations, and the inevitable comparisons, she definitely isn’t up to the mark,” wrote Planet Bollywood’s Rakesh Budhu. She is by no means a washout, of course, so fans may still have trust in her future endeavours while still enjoying the other facets of her performances.

Controversy
In 2006, she slapped the Bollywood actress, Amrita Rao while shooting for the film ‘Pyare Mohan.’ In an interview, Esha said,
Yes, I slapped Amrita. One day after pack-up, she abused me in front of my director, Indra Kumar and my cameraman and I thought that was totally out of line. To protect my self-respect and dignity, in the heat of the moment, I slapped her. I have no regrets because she totally deserved it for her behaviour towards me at that point in time. I just stood up for myself and my dignity.”
