Lincoln achieved international fame beginning in 2010 with his role as Rick Grimes in AMC’s post-apocalyptic horror series The Walking Dead. His performance earned him two Saturn Awards for Best Actor on Television (2015, 2017). Born in London to an English civil engineer and a South African nurse, Lincoln moved with his family to Cottingham in the East Riding of Yorkshire as a toddler, and later to Bath, Somerset. He attended Beechen Cliff School, where he took on his first acting role at age 14 as The Artful Dodger in a school production of Oliver!.
