Early Life

Zendejas was born in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, but moved to El Paso, Texas, at a young age. Initially, he was listed by MLS, U.S. Soccer, and FC Dallas as being born in El Paso. However, FC Dallas later confirmed that he was actually born in Mexico.

Club Career

On October 1, 2014, Zendejas signed a homegrown player contract with FC Dallas, becoming the 13th homegrown signing in the club’s history. However, he wasn’t eligible to play for the first team until the 2015 season. He made his professional debut on May 1, 2015, in a 4–1 victory over Houston Dynamo. On June 23, 2016, Zendejas signed with Liga MX club C.D. Guadalajara. To align with the club’s tradition of fielding only Mexican players, he agreed to forgo future U.S. national team call-ups in favor of Mexico national team opportunities if they arose. Zendejas was registered with the first team and given the number 29 jersey, the same number he wore at Dallas. He made his Liga MX debut on August 6, 2016, in a match against Querétaro.

On June 8, 2017, Chivas coach Matías Almeyda announced that several youth players would be loaned out to sister club Zacatepec for more playing time. Zendejas was officially loaned to Zacatepec, where he scored his first professional goal in a Copa MX match against Cruz Azul. He netted his first Ascenso MX goal on August 12, 2017, against Murciélagos F.C., helping Zacatepec secure a 1–0 victory with that goal.

Carrera internacional
