Srivastava continued to strive for academic success by enrolling in the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), where he studied for a dual degree in M. Tech. and B. Tech. He was awarded a gold medal for his outstanding performance at IIT, which further demonstrated his intelligence and commitment.

In the year 2003, Aditya was forced into marriage to Manasi Srivasatava, a psychologist. Both in 2005 and 2007, they welcomed a daughter into the world.
Career
At Sangeet Samiti, Civil Lines, Allahabad, Aditya Srivastava performed in theatre productions while pursuing her degree from Allahabad University. He relocated to Delhi in 1989 to further his acting career, where he worked mostly in theatre at Sri Ram Centre of Performing Arts. He was discovered by Shekhar Kapoor and made his acting debut as Puttilal in the film Bandit Queen. In 1995, he relocated to Mumbai following this. He provided a lot of voiceovers for commercials and promotions. Additionally, he had significant episodic parts in Rishtey, Aahat, and Byomkesh Bakshi. He had leading roles in Naya Daur, 9 Malabar Hill, and Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti. In 1997, he took a hiatus from television to work on films.
Later, in 1999, after Ashutosh Gowariker had departed to seek guidance, B. P. Singh saw him in Satya and thought he was a cop. Singh then offered him a C.I.D. Despite having performed in the C.I.D. episode “The Case of the Stolen Gun” as a criminal Paresh by that point. He signed up for just 26 episodes at first because he was reluctant, but later on, he extended. “The Case of the Stolen Dynamite” was his first C.I.D. episode as an officer.
