Club Career
Zaniolo was born in Massa, Tuscany, and developed in the youth academy of Fiorentina. On the final day of the 2016 summer transfer window, he was released by the club and soon joined Virtus Entella. After spending time with Entella’s Primavera squad, he made his professional debut in Serie B on 11 March 2017 at the age of 17, contributing to a 3–2 win over Benevento. He made seven appearances for Virtus Entella during the 2016–17 season.
Zaniolo signed with Inter Milan for a reported €1.8 million, with an additional €1.7 million in performance-related bonuses. He spent the 2017–18 season with Inter’s Primavera (youth) team, becoming their top scorer with 13 goals and helping the squad win the Campionato Nazionale Primavera.
