Early Life

At just five years old, Jurel underwent plastic surgery after a tragic accident left his left leg injured when it was trapped under a bus tire. He often credits his parents’ sacrifices for his rise in cricket. Despite financial hardships, his father initially hesitated to support his cricketing journey, but later took out a loan to buy him a ₹2000 Kashmir willow bat when Dhruv was 14. His mother, determined to support his dreams, even pawned her only gold necklace to purchase a kit bag for him.
Jurel’s interest in cricket began during a summer camp at school, where watching other kids play sparked his passion for the game. He later moved from Agra to Noida to train at a cricket academy near Delhi. He steadily progressed through the ranks, representing Uttar Pradesh at the U-14, U-16, and U-19 levels.
