Domestic career
While studying a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Iyer made his Twenty20 debut at Holkar Stadium against the Railways cricket team in March 2015 and his List A debut at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in December of the same year. He made the decision to drop out and participate in a Master of Business Administration programme in finance after clearing the CA Intermediate exams in order to continue his cricket career. On December 6, 2018, he made his Madhya Pradesh first-class debut in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy.
