Sohail Salim Abdul Rashid Khan, born on December 20, 1970, is an Indian actor, writer, film director, and producer, primarily known for his work in Hindi cinema. He is the younger brother of renowned actors Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan, and he has an older sister, Alvira Khan Agnihotri. Sohail produces films under his own banner, Sohail Khan Productions. Sohail Khan began his career as a film producer and director, making his directorial debut with the 1997 action thriller Auzaar, featuring his brother Salman Khan and Sanjay Kapoor. He went on to direct both Salman and Arbaaz in Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and the less successful Hello Brother (1999) under his original banner, G.S. Entertainment.

In 2002, he made his acting debut in Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, which had average box office performance. His breakout role came with the film Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005), where he co-starred with Salman. He also wrote, produced, and starred in Fight Club – Members Only, although it didn’t perform well commercially. His 2006 boxing drama Aryan received critical acclaim for his performance but suffered due to a delayed release. Khan produced the successful film Partner (2007), which featured Salman Khan and Govinda in leading roles, alongside Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif. Additionally, he has produced live stage shows across India and internationally, created music videos, and ventured into television with the show Chehre Pe Chehra, directed by Rishi Vohra. His subsequent appearances included films like Hello, Heroes, Kisaan, Main Aur Mrs Khanna, and Do Knot Disturb in 2009, and Veer alongside Salman in 2010. He returned to directing with Jai Ho (2014), starring Salman, which received mixed reviews. In 2016, he directed Freaky Ali, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his brother Arbaaz. After a seven-year hiatus from acting, he appeared with Salman again in Tubelight (2017). In 2020, he purchased the franchise for the Kandy Tuskers in the Lanka Premier League.

Sohail Khan was born in Bombay (now Mumbai) to screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Sushila Charak, who later adopted the name Salma Khan. He comes from a family with a rich film heritage, being the brother of actors Salman and Arbaaz Khan. His paternal lineage traces back to Muslim Pashtuns who settled in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, while his mother has Dogra and Marathi roots.
His stepmother is actress Helen. In addition to his brothers, he has a younger sister, Arpita Khan, who has collaborated with Sneha Ullal on a film produced by Sohail Khan Productions. Arpita is married to actor Aayush Sharma. Sohail Khan was married to Seema Sachdev, a Punjabi Hindu, from 1998 until their separation in 2022. They had an Arya Samaj wedding followed by a nikkah. The couple has two sons, Nirvan and Yohan (the latter born through surrogacy), who is also known as Aslam Khan.
