She is the daughter-in-law of JMM leader Shibu Soren and the widow of the late Durga Soren. On March 19, 2025, she resigned from all positions within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, with Vinod Tawde and Vishal Singh present during her switch.
