Saba Azad, born Saba Singh Grewal on November 1, 1985, is an Indian actress, theatre director, and musician. She is part of the electro funk duo Madboy/Mink, based in Mumbai. Azad made her Bollywood debut as Raaga in the indie film Dil Kabaddi (2008) and gained recognition for her leading role in the romantic comedy Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge (2011). She also portrayed Dingo in the 2016 web series Ladies Room, produced by Y-Films. Saba Azad made her Bollywood debut in 2008 with Anil Senior’s Dil Kabaddi, where she starred opposite Rahul Bose. She later gained prominence for her role as Preity Sen in Y-Films’ Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge, sharing the screen with newcomers Nishant Dahiya and Saqib Saleem.

She co-founded the electronic band Madboy/Mink with actor and musician Imaad Shah in 2012, which has since become quite popular. Azad launched her own theatre company, The Skins, in 2010 and directed her first play, Lovepuke, which premiered at the NCPA’s experimental theatre in September 2010. After relocating to Mumbai from Delhi, she performed in a two-man play directed by Makarand Deshpande at Prithvi Theatre. Azad was born in Delhi to a Punjabi father and a Kashmiri mother, and she is the niece of renowned theatre figure Safdar Hashmi. Growing up in a theatre family, she performed with Hashmi’s group, Jana Natya Manch, from a young age, collaborating with notable directors like Habib Tanvir, MK Raina, GP Deshpande, and NK Sharma.
