Ryan Patrick Day born March 12, 1979 is an American football coach and former college player. He currently serves as the 24th head football coach at Ohio State University, a role he has held since 2019. Day also acted as the Buckeyes’ head coach for the first three games of the 2018 season. He played college football at the University of New Hampshire, where he was a quarterback and linebacker for the Wildcats from 1998 to 2001, before beginning his coaching career in 2002. In 2017, Day was hired by Ohio State as co-offensive coordinator, replacing Tim Beck. He was promoted to offensive coordinator and primary play caller in 2018, shortly after being linked to the Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator position.

Day attended Manchester Central High School in Manchester, New Hampshire, where he played quarterback and defensive back. He was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year for his senior season. At the University of New Hampshire, Day set four career records, including those for completion percentage and touchdowns, under the guidance of offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Day’s coaching journey began with his role as the offensive coordinator at Temple in 2012. He then served as the offensive coordinator at Boston College from 2013 to 2014. In 2015, Day was hired as the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. After Chip Kelly was dismissed as head coach of the Eagles in 2016, Day followed Kelly to the San Francisco 49ers in the same role.
