Ruturaj Gaikwad Informations

He mentioned that the team encountered numerous obstacles in the initial match, expressing regret over the absence of Matheesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman in the CSK lineup. The skipper of CSK expressed slight disappointment at the team’s failure to qualify for the IPL 2025 play-offs. Gaikwad noted that despite facing challenges from the start of the season and dealing with injuries to key players like Conway, he was content with winning seven out of 14 games. He emphasized the impact of injuries on squad balance and the team’s inability to secure victories. Gaikwad highlighted that personal achievements were insignificant compared to the team’s main goal of winning, expressing his disappointment at falling short of this objective.

In the match, CSK won the toss and chose to bat. RCB scored 218/5, with Faf Du Plessis (54 runs in 39 balls, including three fours and three sixes) and Virat Kohli (47 runs in 29 balls, with three fours and four sixes) forming a 78-run partnership. This set a strong foundation for Rajat Patidar (41 runs in 23 balls, with two fours and four sixes) and Cameron Green (38* runs in 17 balls, with three fours and three sixes) to have a 71-run partnership for the third wicket.

Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell contributed crucial runs for RCB, helping them reach a total of over 200 runs. RCB aimed to keep CSK below 201 runs to secure a spot in the playoffs and improve their net run rate. CSK, chasing 219 runs, needed to score at least 201 runs to qualify for the top four, but lost two early wickets, reaching 19/2. Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane’s partnership of 66 runs revived CSK’s chances with impressive performances.

RCB restricted CSK to 129/6, but a partnership between Ravindra Jadeja (42* in 22 balls, including three fours and three sixes) and MS Dhoni (25* in 13 balls, with three fours and a six) posed a threat to RCB. However, Yash Dayal successfully defended 11 runs in the final over, holding CSK to 191/7 in 20 overs. RCB currently holds the fourth position with seven wins and seven losses, totaling 14 points. CSK, on the other hand, is in fifth place with the same win-loss record but has dropped to fifth position due to a lower net-run rate.

Gaikwad had a disappointing performance, getting out for a golden duck to Glenn Maxwell’s first ball in the second innings. He recognized the spin-friendly conditions of the Bengaluru pitch during his post-match comments.

He felt okay with the target set. Overall, he was happy with seven out of 14 games played. Injuries, like Conway’s absence, affected the team a lot. Challenges started from the first game due to injuries to Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman. Injuries make it hard to have a balanced team. They couldn’t win this time, which made him a bit sad personally. Personal achievements are not as important as winning for him.

Coming to the game, CSK chose to bat after winning the toss. RCB scored 218/5 with strong performances from Faf Du Plessis (54 runs in 39 balls), Virat Kohli (47 runs in 29 balls), Rajat Patidar (41 runs in 23 balls), and Cameron Green (38* runs in 17 balls). The partnerships between the players set a good foundation for a solid total.

Cameos by Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell boosted RCB’s score to over 200. RCB had to keep CSK under 201 runs to make the playoffs. While chasing 219, CSK lost two wickets early, reaching 19/2. Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane’s partnership of 66 runs revived CSK’s chances.

Rcb stopped Csk at 129/6. A team-up of Jadeja (42* in 22 balls) and Dhoni (25* in 13 balls) worried Rcb. Yet, Dayal defended well, allowing only 11 runs in the last over. This held Csk at 191/7 in 20 overs. Rcb now ranks fourth with seven wins and losses each, totaling to 14 points. Meanwhile, Csk sits fifth due to a lower net-run rate after seven wins and losses.
