Romesh Ranganathan Biography Jonathan Romesh Ranganathan (born March 27, 1978) is a Sri Lankan-born British actor, comedian, and television presenter. His sense of humor is deadpan and often self-deprecating. Ranganathan has been on various TV comedy panel shows, including The Apprentice: You’re Fired!, Play to the Whistle, and The Museum of Curiosity. In 2016, he finished his first major tour, Irrational Live, when he performed at significant venues such as the Hammersmith Apollo. He began appearing as a regular panelist on A League of Their Own in 2018. He has hosted the comedy shows Judge Romesh and The Ranganation, as well as appearing in the travel show The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan. In 2018, he launched his autobiography, Straight Outta Crawley.

Early life

Jonathan Romesh Ranganathan was born on March 27, 1978, in Crawley, West Sussex, as the son of Sri Lankan Tamil parents Ranga and Sivashanthini Ranganathan. He was reared as a Hindu. As a toddler, he had an eye ailment that caused his right eyelid to droop and his eye to be lazy. He attended Reigate Grammar School, a private school, from 1990 to 1992. He then attended Crawley’s state-funded Hazelwick School before studying mathematics at Birkbeck, University of London. Ranganathan taught mathematics at Hazelwick School and The Beacon School in Banstead before starting his comic career. He also competed in freestyle rap under the stage name Ranga, reaching the finals of the UK freestyle competition. He began to do humor.
