Early Life
On March 14, 1973, Rohit Shetty was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He attended Mumbai’s St. Mary’s School. Regretfully, Rohit’s father, M.B. Shetty, who worked as a stuntman and actor in Kannada and Hindi movies, died when he was just six years old. Rohit’s family experienced financial troubles as a result. Career
At the age of 17, Rohit Shetty made his directorial debut with the movie Phool Aur Kaante, starring Ajay Devgn. He collaborated with Devgn on a number of movies, including Raju Chacha, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Haqeeqat, Suhaag, and Zulmi. With Zameen in 2003, Shetty made his directing debut. In 2006, he directed Golmaal, which became his first smash. Sunday, Golmaal Returns, and All the Best: Fun Begins, his next three films, were released in 2008 and 2009. Controversies | • Rohit Katrina fight:
In 2020, in an interview, Rohit said that he made a comment on actress Katrina Kaif who was a part of his film ‘Sooryavanshi.’ The comment that he made on Katrina was,
Katrina, I will tell you honestly, no one is going to look at you.
Rohit made this comment in connection to a scene that was shown in the trailer where Katrina was seen with Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Ranveer Singh. After he revealed this in the interview, many people called him sexist.
Katrina clarified the controversy and took to social media and said,
