Rishabh Pant Early Life
Rishabh Pant was born in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, to Rajendra and Saroj Pant and has an elder sister named Sakshi. At just 12 years old, he began traveling to Delhi with his mother on weekends to train at the Sonnet Cricket Academy under coach Tarak Sinha. Due to their limited accommodation options, they often stayed at a Gurdwara in Moti Bagh. Sinha recommended that Pant relocate to Rajasthan to participate in U-13 and U-15 cricket, but this did not materialize. Under his mentor’s guidance, Pant overhauled his batting technique to enhance his skills.
A pivotal moment in his career occurred during a U-19 match for Delhi against Assam, where he scored 35 runs in his first innings and followed it with an impressive 150 in the second, a performance he considers crucial to his development. On February 1, 2016, during the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, Pant achieved a remarkable feat by scoring the fastest fifty at that level, reaching the milestone in just 18 balls. Tragically, his father passed away from a cardiac arrest in April 2017.
