Owen Wilson Early Life

Wilson was born in Dallas, Texas, as the middle child of three sons. His mother, Laura Cunningham Wilson, was a photographer, and his father, Robert Andrew Wilson (1941–2017), was an advertising executive and public television station operator. His brothers, Andrew and Luke, are also actors. The Wilson family has Irish heritage. As a teenager, Wilson broke his nose twice first in a high school fight and later while playing football with friends. Wilson humorously commented to The Los Angeles Times, “You know, probably my nose wouldn’t have been that great even if it hadn’t been broken.” After being expelled for cheating in geometry, Wilson attended the New Mexico Military Institute. He later enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied English, though he did not complete his degree. It was during this time that he met Wes Anderson, who became both his roommate and a longtime collaborator.
