On June 6, 1988, Kakkar was born in Rishikesh, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand). Kakkar relocated to Delhi with her family in the early 1990s in an attempt to pursue a career in singing. At four years old, Kakkar began giving performances at neighborhood get-togethers and religious ceremonies. In 2004, she and her brother, Tony Kakkar, relocated to Mumbai.
