As a senior, he recorded 86 receptions for an impressive 1,656 yards and 21 touchdowns, leading his team, the Toreadors. He was recognized as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and chose to continue his football career at Ohio State University. After high school, Thomas spent a year at Fork Union Military Academy, where he was roommates with future Ohio State teammate Cardale Jones.
