Mehidy Hasan Miraz born on October 25, 1997, is a prominent Bangladeshi cricketer who represents the Bangladesh national team. A talented bowling all-rounder, he bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off break. Miraz gained recognition on February 11, 2016, when he was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ at the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, making him the first Bangladeshi player to achieve this distinction in an ICC event. In November 2018, he recorded the best match figures for a Bangladeshi bowler in a Test match against the West Indies. He scored his maiden Test century in February 2021 against the same team and became the fastest Bangladeshi bowler to reach 100 Test wickets, accomplishing this feat in just 24 matches. Mehidy Hasan Miraz Early Life
Miraz was born in Bakerganj Upazila, Barisal district, and grew up in Khalishpur, Khulna city. He began playing cricket at the age of eight and attended Kashipur Cricket Academy, where he was first selected for the Under-14 national cricket tournament. On March 15, 2019, he and several members of the Bangladesh Test team were about to enter the Al Noor mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand, when a terrorist attack occurred. The incident left the team “deeply affected.” To cope with the shock of the attack, Miraz married his long-time fiancée, Rabeya Akhter Priti, just six days later, on March 21, 2019.
