Andrew Ladd McConkey born November 11, 2001 is an American professional football wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, where he helped secure two national championships and earned the 2023 Wuerffel Trophy. McConkey was selected by the Chargers in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. McConkey redshirted his first year at Georgia and initially joined the scout team. During his redshirt freshman season, he recorded five touchdowns with 28 receptions for 430 yards. His first career touchdown came in a game against Vanderbilt, and he also rushed for a touchdown.

McConkey was named SEC Freshman of the Week following Georgia’s 34-10 victory over Auburn, where he totaled 135 yards and scored a touchdown. He played in every game that season, making seven starts. In the 2022 season opener against Oregon, McConkey scored two touchdowns—one receiving and one rushing. He set a career-high with six receptions in a game against Kent State and added another touchdown against Florida. McConkey also posted a season-high 94 yards in a game against #1 Tennessee. The following week, he rushed for a 70-yard touchdown and added a 17-yard receiving touchdown in a game against Mississippi State. However, McConkey was forced to leave the SEC Championship Game against LSU on December 3, 2022, due to knee tendinitis.

Over the course of his high school career, he played multiple positions, including quarterback, running back, defensive back, punter, and return specialist. During his senior year, he led North Murray to a 9–1 record and the school’s first-ever region championship. McConkey finished the season with 36 total touchdowns and 3,051 yards, earning the title of region offensive player of the year. As a three-star recruit, he committed to the University of Georgia in February 2020, his only Power Five offer. In 2023, North Murray retired his jersey number, 15, in recognition of his achievements.
