Early life
A Punjabi Sikh family welcomed Grover into the world on February 23, 1982, in New Delhi, India. A younger brother of his exists. Grover’s family relocated to Saudi Arabia’s Al Khobar when he was a small boy. He attended International Indian School in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, for his education, then he went on to IHM Mumbai to earn a hotel management degree. At the Sheraton Hotel in Oman, he later held the position of Marketing Executive.

Career
Grover was a Gladrags Manhunt Contest participant in 2004 and was awarded “Most Popular Model.” He debuted on television in 2004 as well, having been selected for the role in a nationwide talent search organized by the production company, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi on MTV India, a youth program produced by Balaji Telefilms. Grover had the lead role in the medical youth drama Dill Mill Gayye in 2007. became a “teenage icon” and a “instant hit” as a result of the show, according to The Times of India, which also claimed that it became the top show on STAR One. took part in a couple reality series and appeared in multiple ads while filming for Dill Mill Gayye.
A couple of years later, Cinevistaas Limited said that they had filed a complaint against Grover for often arriving at work several hours late, resulting in financial loss. Grover briefly quit the program, but at the urging of the fans, he came back after six months. The final episode aired on October 29, 2010. Grover performed with Cinevistaas Limited for two gigs following Dill Mill Gayye. He appeared in their telefilm Teri Meri Love Stories and appeared in Dil Dosti Dance in a cameo role.

Grover tied the knot with actress Shraddha Nigam on December 2, 2008. It took them ten months to get divorced. April 9, 2012, was the day he wed Jennifer Winget. 2014 saw the couple’s split up. Actress Bipasha Basu and Grover tied the knot on April 30, 2016. Basu made her pregnancy to Grover’s first child known in August of 2022. Devi Basu Singh Grover was born on November 12, 2022, the daughter of Grover and Basu.

Tiff With the Makers of a TV Show
In 2013, according to producers of the TV serial ‘Qubool Hai’ Karan was sacked from the show because of his tantrums and unprofessional behaviour. In an interview, Ajay Bhalwankar the content head of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited said,
“Unprofessional behaviour will always be accorded with strict disciplinary action. Actors should not take things lightly when they agree to be a part of a show as their erratic behaviour can affect the livelihoods of many others who are working on it. No actor can hold shoots or dictate their terms and conditions to an extent that it hampers the show.”
When Karan was asked about the same, he said,
“Asad is a very heavy character and I needed to break way from playing it every day. When you are being someone like him for more than 12 hours, everyday, you start getting disconnected with the reality. That was my major issue. I think if anyone wants to maintain the standard of creativity, then you cannot stretch it for long. Then it becomes mundane.” |
