Jonathan Michael Majors born September 7, 1989 is an American actor who gained recognition for his roles in films such as The Last Black Man in San Francisco (2019) and Da 5 Bloods (2020), as well as the HBO horror series Lovecraft Country (2020), for which he earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Majors went on to portray Nat Love in the western The Harder They Fall (2021), Jesse L. Brown in the war drama Devotion (2022), and the antagonist Dame Anderson in Creed III (2023). In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), he played the role of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and appeared as different versions of the character in the Loki series (2021–2023).

However, in March 2023, Majors was arrested on charges of physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In December of the same year, he was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment. Following his conviction, Majors was removed from several upcoming projects, including future MCU appearances. He is currently undergoing a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program.

Jonathan Majors Early Life
Jonathan Majors was born in Santa Barbara County, California, and spent his early childhood on the Vandenberg military base, where he lived with his mother, a pastor, his older sister, and his younger brother. His father, a member of the US Air Force, was often absent, and in 2020, Majors revealed that his father “disappeared” for many years, only to reappear 17 years later. The family moved frequently across Texas, living in cities such as Dallas, Georgetown, and Cedar Hill. Majors attended Cedar Hill High School before graduating from Duncanville High School in 2008.
Reflecting on his early years, Majors has described his childhood as “difficult.” He grew up in a tough neighborhood surrounded by drug dealers and ex-convicts, which led to struggles in his teenage years. He was arrested for shoplifting, suspended from school for fighting, and even lived in his car while working two jobs after being kicked out of his home. However, Majors found refuge in the world of theatre, which he discovered after watching The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan. He credits Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker as a major inspiration for his decision to pursue acting, and he has since sought to inspire others with his own story. Majors went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and later attended the prestigious Yale School of Drama, where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in 2016.
