Jeff Bridges Early Life

Bridges was born on December 4, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to actor Lloyd Bridges (1913–1998) and actress and writer Dorothy Bridges (née Simpson; 1915–2009). He has three siblings: older brother Beau Bridges (born December 9, 1941), who is also an actor; younger sister Lucinda; and brother Garrett, who tragically passed away from sudden infant death syndrome in 1948. His maternal grandfather was an immigrant from Liverpool, England.

Raised in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, Bridges developed a close bond with his brother Beau, who often stepped in as a father figure when their father was busy with work.
