He has two sisters—an older and a younger one—both of whom became lawyers. The family later relocated to Hinsdale, a suburb west of Chicago. Chandrasekhar attended Lake Forest Academy, a boarding school, before earning his degree in European history with a minor in philosophy from Colgate University.
