J’Kaylin Dobbins born December 17, 1998 is an American professional football running back currently playing for the Los Angeles Chargers in the National Football League (NFL). He previously played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 55th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After spending four seasons with the Ravens, Dobbins joined the Chargers.

In his debut game for Ohio State in 2017, Dobbins rushed for 181 yards on 29 carries against Indiana. He earned the starting position over Mike Weber, the 2016 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, who was recovering from an injury. During his freshman season, Dobbins surpassed 100 rushing yards in six games and became only the fourth freshman in Ohio State history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. In the 2017 Big Ten Football Championship Game, Dobbins broke the freshman rushing record, surpassing Maurice Clarett with a 174-yard, MVP performance. He later set the freshman rushing record at 1,403 yards in a 24-7 victory over USC in the Cotton Bowl Classic.

Dobbins grew up in La Grange, Texas, and attended La Grange High School. Throughout his high school football career, he accumulated 5,149 rushing yards and 74 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he rushed for 2,243 yards and 37 touchdowns, and as a junior, he tallied 2,740 yards and 35 touchdowns. Due to an injury, Dobbins played in only one game during his senior year. Despite this setback, he was considered a highly-recruited four-star prospect, receiving over twenty scholarship offers from Power Five conferences. He was ranked among the top five running backs in his 2017 class and among the top ten players in Texas by all major recruiting websites. Both 247Sports and ESPN.com rated him as one of the top-50 recruits in the country. Although there was speculation about him committing to Texas or Oklahoma, Dobbins ultimately chose to play for Ohio State University.
