Apple may introduce the iPhone 17 Plus next year, which will differ from its predecessors by featuring a smaller display. Ross Young, CEO and Co-Founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), shared this information about the successor to the iPhone 16 Plus. This change could lead to a variety of price points for Apple’s iPhone lineup. However, the iPhone 17 Plus is not anticipated to be released until the second half of 2025.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Ross Young from DSCC, known for accurately leaking Apple’s display specifications, mentioned that the iPhone 17 Plus may have a slightly smaller screen compared to previous “Plus” models. Young did not provide a specific screen size for the iPhone 17 Plus but indicated that it would be larger than the iPhone 17 and smaller than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus both had a 6.7-inch display, similar to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Reports now suggest that the upcoming iPhone 16 Plus will also come with a 6.7-inch screen.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens, while rumors suggest that this year’s Pro models will have displays that are 0.2 inches larger. The iPhone 16 Pro is likely to come with a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max could feature a 6.9-inch screen.
It is advisable to be skeptical about the rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 Plus since Apple is not anticipated to release the iPhone 17 series until 2025, several months away. The focus currently is on the upcoming iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which are expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2025.
