Gudakesh Motie born March 29, 1995 is a cricketer from Guyana who competes in West Indian domestic cricket as a left-arm orthodox bowler. He made his international debut for the West Indies team in December 2021. Motie’s career began with the West Indies under-19 team, where he participated in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup in the UAE. He made his first-class debut for Guyana in November 2015 against the Windward Islands during the 2015–16 Regional Four Day Competition. In his second match, he impressed by taking 6 wickets for 20 runs and 5 for 85, achieving match figures of 11 for 105 and earning the title of man of the match. He followed this with another remarkable performance, taking 6 for 79 against Barbados, and secured a fourth five-wicket haul with 6 for 33 against Jamaica shortly thereafter.

In October 2019, Motie was selected for Guyana’s squad for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament, where he became the leading wicket-taker in the 2021 series with a total of 16 wickets. He made his Twenty20 debut on September 2, 2021, playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League. In November 2021, Motie was included in the West Indies’ ODI and T20I squads for their series against Pakistan, making his T20I debut on December 16, 2021. He was also named in the ODI squad for a series against Ireland later that month. In May 2022, he scored his first-class century, making 110 runs against Barbados during the West Indies Championship. He was subsequently named in the Test squad for the series against Bangladesh, making his Test debut on June 16, 2022, and his ODI debut on July 10, 2022, against the same team. In December 2023, Motie was selected for the Test series against Australia, and in May 2025, he was named in the West Indies squad for the 2025 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
