Tyshun Raequan “Deebo” Samuel Sr. born January 15, 1996 is an American professional football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks and was drafted by the 49ers in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2021, Samuel was selected for the Pro Bowl and earned first-team All-Pro honors. Samuel redshirted during his freshman year in 2014. Samuel played in five games, starting three, but struggled with injuries. He sustained a hamstring injury in the season opener against North Carolina. He finished the season with 12 receptions for 161 yards.

In his sophomore year, Samuel appeared in 10 games, leading the team with 59 receptions for 783 yards. He also rushed 15 times for 98 yards and six touchdowns. In the Birmingham Bowl against USF, he recorded 14 receptions for 190 yards. In the season opener against NC State, Samuel returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and had five catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 2 against Missouri, he returned another kickoff for a touchdown, caught five passes for 45 yards, and ran the ball twice for 30 yards and a touchdown. In Week 3 against Kentucky, Samuel caught a 68-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage. After suffering a season-ending injury, he finished the season with 250 yards receiving, three touchdowns, 30 rushing yards and a touchdown, and two kickoff returns for touchdowns, accumulating 194 yards in total.

Samuel attended Chapman High School in Inman, South Carolina, where he played football under coach Mark Hodge. As a senior, he led his team to the AAA playoffs semifinals. Over the course of his high school career, he recorded 166 receptions for 2,751 yards and 36 touchdowns, along with 133 rushing attempts for 898 yards and 13 touchdowns. Samuel set a school record with 53 career touchdowns, adding 94 tackles and 12 interceptions. He was named the High School Sports Report Class AAA Offensive Player of the Year and played in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. Rated a three-star recruit by the 247 composite, Samuel committed to the University of South Carolina to continue his football career.
