Charlie Cox Biography: Charlie Thomas Cox born 15 December 1982 is an English actor best known for his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He led the series Daredevil (2015–2018) and stars in its revival, Daredevil: Born Again (2025–present). Cox gained recognition playing Owen Sleater in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire (2011–2012) and Jonathan Hellyer Jones in the Oscar-winning film The Theory of Everything (2014). More recently, he starred in the Irish crime drama Kin (2021–2023) and the Netflix spy thriller Treason (2022). His breakout role came in 2007 as Tristan Thorn in the fantasy adventure Stardust, part of a string of roles in mostly British productions during the early years of his career. He made his West End debut in 2008 in a revival of Harold Pinter’s The Lover and The Collection.
