He played college football at Auburn University and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Davis attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where he participated in most of the drills but chose to skip the short shuttle and three-cone drill. He finished eighth among all cornerbacks in both the broad jump and bench press. On March 9, 2018, Davis took part in Auburn’s pro day, where he completed most of the drills but opted out of the bench press, vertical jump, and broad jump. During this workout, Davis also improved his times in the 40-yard dash (4.44 seconds), 20-yard dash (2.60 seconds), and 10-yard dash (1.59 seconds).
