Cameron Dicker, born on May 6, 2000, and known as “Dicker the Kicker,” is a professional football placekicker for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL. He previously played college football for the Texas Longhorns and is the first NFL player to be born in Hong Kong.

Dicker quickly earned a starting role at Texas, where he made an immediate impact. He finished his freshman season with 18 field goals out of 25 attempts and 51 successful extra points out of 52, earning second-team all-Big 12 honors in 2018. His 18 field goals set a Texas freshman record. Dicker gained national attention as “Dicker the Kicker” when he made a game-winning 40-yard field goal against Oklahoma in the 2018 Red River Showdown. He received second-team all-Big 12 honors again in 2020 and first-team honors in 2021. Dicker set the record for the longest field goal in Alamo Bowl history with a 53-yard kick in the 2020 game and took on punting duties in the 2021 season. On January 19, 2022, he declared for the NFL Draft.

Cameron Dicker Early Life

Dicker was born in Hong Kong and spent his first eleven years in Shanghai, where his father worked. He developed a love for soccer and is an avid supporter of Liverpool F.C. He later attended Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas, where he was a two-time all-state selection and served as the starting kicker for three years. Dicker helped lead his team to a Texas 6A Division State Championship in 2016. Over his high school career, he scored 331 points, converting 34 of 43 field goal attempts and 229 of 232 extra points. He also set a school record with a 53-yard field goal. Dicker was ranked the fourth-best kicker in the nation by 247Sports and 16th by ESPN in the 2018 class. He committed to the University of Texas on May 4, 2017.
