A consensus five-star recruit, he was widely regarded as one of the top shooting guards in the 2020 class. He began his high school basketball career as a freshman at Oscar F. Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. However, he did not play during his sophomore season due to differences between him and the coaching staff.
