Breece Maelik Hall born May 31, 2001 is an American professional football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Iowa State, where he earned two-time All-American honors and was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. After David Montgomery’s departure to the NFL, Breece Hall became Iowa State’s starting running back during his true freshman season. He earned co-Newcomer of the Week honors after rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns in a 38–14 victory over West Virginia. The following week, he repeated the honor after rushing for 183 yards and two touchdowns, along with catching three passes for 73 yards. Hall finished his freshman season with 897 rushing yards, nine touchdowns, and 23 receptions for 252 yards and one touchdown, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors.
In his sophomore season, Hall rushed for over 100 yards in the first eight games. He concluded the season as the FBS leader in rushing yards with 1,572 on 279 carries, adding 21 rushing touchdowns. He also had 23 receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Hall was named first-team All-Big 12 and the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year, and became the first unanimous All-American in Iowa State’s history. As a junior in 2021, Hall accumulated 1,472 rushing yards, 302 receiving yards, and 23 total touchdowns. After the season, he announced his decision to forgo his senior year and enter the 2022 NFL Draft.
